There is significant difference in the total number as well as the total length of cane (Calamus tenuis Roxb.) obtained from per unit area at different harvesting cycle. Maximum number as well as length of cane could be obtained from two years harvesting cycle. Culm cuttings of bamboo can be used successfully as an alternative method of vegetative propagation for large scale plantation. Survival per cent of culm cuttings varies significantly for different species.
